| The Home page guides the user to the Introduction, Tutorial, Practice,
Test and Exit. |
The Tutorial portion of this program is intended to introduce the chemistry
student to the various reactions and reaction types that are encountered
in AP Chemistry. There are nine reaction types that are introduced in the
Tutorial section. |

The Practice page uses a random reaction generator
that displays a word equation, formulas for reactants and products. The user
can dictate which reaction type(s) to practice and can choose the HIDE option(s)
to hide/show reactants, products, and word products. There is also a HINT
button that displays pertinent information about the current reaction.
The CHECK function enables the user to check the whether or not the response
is correct. |

|
| The Test is designed to test AP Chemistry reaction
proficiency, by providing the student with a similar test format to that
found on the AP Chemistry Exam. The user selects 1-9 reaction types to test.
Depending on which selections are made, 5 randomly generated reactions will
be given in word equation form. Following reaction type(s) selection, the
user selects a test time which can be 1-1000 seconds. |
After the reaction type(s) and time frame is selected
the user clicks on Go and the test begins. The user types in formulas for
reactants and products for each of the 5 reactions. Once time expires, the
test ends and the responses are graded. |
|
|
The report card portion of Reaction Master™ shows
all of the test information: the 5 word equations, formula responses, formula
answers, points possible, points earned, elapsed time, and total points.
The students are graded in an identical fashion to that on the AP Exam.
They can earn 1 point for correct reactant(s), 2 points for correct product(s),
3 points overall, and 15 points total. |
